Lessons we can all learn from little folks
Our granddaughter, four years old, came home from daycare with a special "sunshine" award for being exceptionally good the other day. She was so proud of the award and told her parents she wanted to give Miss Dee a "sunshine" award the next day. She wanted to write "Miss Dee , you are so nice and special. I love you so much".
Her father said, that is so nice but I do not remember Miss Dee what does she look like. Our granddaughter said "she has long hair and is tall, and she looks like me". Miss Dee according to Mom has short hair and is black. Our granddaughter has long hair and is white.
I found it profound in these difficult times that our little folks have a message for us adults. We are all the same. Until we are jaded by the events of others, innocence is bliss. We should appreciate the message from our little folks and work at carrying that message forward throughout our lives to make the world a better place.
